Run Forrest Run!
So the meeting yesterday ended by 12:30pm, and we had lunch, before splitting up to do our own thing and rendezvous-ing at 5pm at a cafe..
Decided I was done with shopping by 4pm.. didn't see anything I really wanted to buy except for the Dunhill Blackberry case - simple looking, black on the outside, camel colored leather on the inside.. yummy! But also too expensive..
We caught a cab to the station for the airport train at 5:25, and was so busy yakking away that we didn't notice that the cab was making very little progress until 6:05, when the cab driver must have figured out from our conversation that we were heading back to Singapore, and told us to get out of the cab, walk to the monorail station, and then take the monorail instead..
Reached the airport-train station at 6:35, but the train didn't leave till 6:45, and reached the airport only at 7:13..
Thankfully me and the colleague I travelled up with got our return boarding passes earlier in the morning already; she took off her heels, held them in her hand, we both ran all the way, cut the queues for immigration, only to realise that we had to take a train to the departure gates... reached the departure gate 6 minutes before takeoff!
The other guy with us wasn't so lucky as he had to check-in at the counter, which was closed for the flight by the time we reached the airport.. thankfully he managed to get on the later flight..
My reward to myself for vigourous exercise this first time week? Going to Terminal 1 for a Popeye's 2-piece meal. Yums!

I hate that city and its fucking middle-of-nowhere airport.
Pardon my French.
Yeah, catching the train to the terminal can be a pain. On my last trip, I missed my flight back home because the mean guy refused to start up the system for me. I was only 5 min late! Lucky I managed to get on a later flight, which took off 45 min after mine.
my encounter was with the ktm on board a night train from KL back to spore.
i remember being famished and thirsty as the food cart did not make its promised appearance after a long time.
during a stopover, my friend and i did what many other passengers did, ie disembarked from the train in search of food along the roadside stalls which welcomed us with lovely aromas. we had armed ourselves with only ringgit and nothing else as we thought that it was cumbersome to bring our barang barang along with us.
as we were walking happily along the platform towards the smell of food, i heard a distant whistle and thought i saw the wheels moving since it was really quite dark then.
i strained my eyes harder and saw that they were not playing tricks on me as the train was indeed moving. i gasped and felt panic coursed through my veins since all our belongings were on the train (our passports, train tickets, cash, handphones, haversacks, etc).
i yelped to my friend (lovebell) who was still in a state of euphoria at the sight of food that the train was leaving without us. but she did not appear that she had comprehended my words as she carried on walking away from the train, towards food while i lurched forward towards the moving train.
my reflexes did not fail me as i managed to catch up with the train and hoisted myself up. i looked back at lovebell who had by then woken up from her euphoric state and realised what i was shouting.
she started towards the train which had by then accelerated by a bit. the wind blew against my face as i yelled at her to reach out her hands for me to pull her up.
imagine a jackie chan scenario with the platform fast running out, poor lovebell lagging behind with her arms outreached and me hanging on to the handle with one hand while the other flagging aimlessly trying to reach for lovebell.
thankfully, lovebell finally succeeded in keeping pace with the train for me to grab her by the hand and then up the train.
we hugged each other like long-lost sisters and could not stop laughing at how silly we were as the other passengers looked on curiously.
the above mentioned incident is still much talked about by the two of us.. amongst the many other boo-boos we made during the trip. ;p
